Reasons to Write

This episode has been temporarily removed due to arseholes trying to embarrass me.

Note: Due to Space issues I've moved from podbean  to archive.org.

I introduce myself and the show, admit to a guilty writing pleasure, show how green I really am when discussing the word, talk about some of the reasons we write as well as some of the excuses we give for not writing, and announce  Fiction Club (starting next month).
Opening Theme
00:00 – Consider Me by Clairisma
Intro:
00:12 – Hello and welcome to the Green Quill Writing Podcast: A Podcast for newbie writers wanting to dip our toes into the Ocean of creation.  My name is Daniella Robins and I’ll be your host.  Let me just get this out of the way right now: I’m not an expert in anything; let alone writing.
A lot of the time I don’t even know what I’m talking about but I like writing; I want to be a writer. I enjoy it.  I’ll be learning right along with you.  I will share my limited experience and knowledge but hopefully, that will expand as the podcast goes on.
Interlude - Get Over it and Move On:
01:35 – Music by Clairisma
Writing Journal :
02:17 – I talk about where I am with my own writing at the moment.  This part of the episode was recorded in late October.  National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMO) has already started but it’s not too late to sign up. http://nanowrimo.org/  I have since opted not to take part, instead concentrating on my studies.  Yes, I know I called it National Writing Month.  But I was wrong, ok?

Word of the Month:
00:02:42 – http://dictionary.reference.com/  “Green: Lacking knowledge or worldly sophistication”.
Pretty much.

Interlude - Once Again:
04:20 – Music by Clairisma
Main Topic: Reasons to Write
05:12 –
There are a range of different reasons we write, and I cover some of them in our first main topic.  I also discuss what I think is the wrong reason to want to write; the dangers of listening to “writing snobs” and some of the excuses we give ourselves for not writing as well as possible ways to overcome them.
10:46 - This is an example of what some may consider success.  I have not published an e-book (yet).

Fiction Club:
18:01 –I found the terms, “Movie Club” and “Book Club” too restrictive, so every month we’ll be looking at a different piece of fiction, analysing it and discussing what we can learn from it.  I decided to make this first one rleatively easy.  Next month we will be discussing The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe. http://www.heise.de/ix/raven/Literature/Lore/TheRaven.html
Interlude - Patty Malone
19:27 – Music by Clairisma

Outro:
19:59 - You can reach the podcast at greenquillpodcast@gmail.com  or find it on twitter @grnquillpodcast.  You can also reach me on twitter; I’m @DanJanRob.  We have a facebook page which you can find at https://www.facebook.com/greenquillpodcast
